Financing
guidePORT – An investment in the future

Finding a solution together

Even in harder times, the implementation of a project as important as this should not falter due to a lack of financing. With this in mind, we have listed a few practical alternatives to the purchase of the guidePORT system below:

There are a wide variety of options for financing your guidePORT system. Ultimately, these options depend on the size and requirements of your project. In certain cases, additional subsidies are also available.
The following options are examples of financing a guidePORT project. The availability of these options is different from country to country and from each guidePORT partner. Do not hesitate to contact your local guidePORT partner; the experience they have gained from numerous guidePORT projects helps them to help you!

Option 1:
Financing via admission or rental fees

You can either include the cost of  guidePORT in the admission price or you can charge a separate fee for rental of the receivers. The amount charged and the number of devices is based on the average number of visitors to your museum.
Experience has shown that the proceeds from this are sufficient to cover the cost of producing the information in several languages. If the number of visitors exceeds the figure used for the calculation, the profits can either be pumped back into the museum on a pro-rata basis or, for example, used for the production of further language versions.

Option 2:
The operator concept

The guidePORT partner operates your guidePORT system for you. This means that one of our network partners covers the cost of the technical equipment and other ongoing operating costs – as well as expenses for the loaning of the devices on request. In return he receives a share of the profits from your exhibition.
If your museum chooses to finance the rental of guidePORT itself, you will receive commission for loaning of the devices based on the amount of times they are loaned out.
In many countries, our partners, together with you, will create the recorded information and handle sound and image production, including complete service and insurance.

Option 3:
You rent your system

In this scenario, the rental fee is based on the length of the rental period and the technical equipment provided. The museum can then decide whether the devices are to be made available to visitors for free or whether a fee is to be charged.
Our guidePORT partners provide the technology, including service and insurance and, on request, also produce the recorded information. Offers are made following a detailed description of services and specification of costs.

Option 4:
You rent your system or parts thereof on a temporary basis

This alternative is ideal for exhibitors who can reckon with a specific number of guidePORT visitors at certain times, e.g. in the holidays, or for temporary exhibitions such as trade fairs. Additional devices can be rented in months with a greater number of visitors – thereby allowing you to meet the increased demand in peak periods.

Option 5:
You lease guidePORT

This model differs from temporary rental (see option 4) in that a leasing company steps in as an interface between your institution and our network partner. The leasing company purchases the system and develops a lease agreement with you (amount of leasing instalments, duration etc.) to meet your individual requirements. We/our network partners work exclusively with renowned leasing companies with expert knowledge in this field.

Option 6:
Leasing combination

Naturally, you also have the option of leasing just part of the entire system – e.g. you lease the guidePORT system and finance the installation yourself. The leasing option allows flexible combination.
